soap dishes + loofas

Handmade ceramic soap dish available in 2 beautiful colours, hand crafted by Kristin Olds from wild foraged clay, respectfully collected from the lands around her studio in North Warrandyte.

Knowing where the clay comes from brings greater intimacy between herself, her work, and the land from which her pieces are created. Kristin's signature glaze (the grey / blue) is made with locally sourced wood ash. Kristin delights in knowing the ash is also embedded with its own memories: the life of the tree, the group of people who were warmed by the fire, and the conversations they had while it burned. In turn, another layer of story is embedded into each piece through its glaze.

Her pieces are truly precious, each one unique and lovingly hand made.

These dishes not only look stunning in any bathroom, they provide excellent drainage to allow your soaps to dry fully between uses even as it gets smaller with use, so you can get the most out of them.

New! Natural loofa sponges
Extra large loofa you can chop in half and use for body and home, excellent for gently removing dead skin and a brilliant alternative to synthetic dish sponges - good scrubby action that doesn't scratch glassware, creates big fluffy lather with your favourite soap, dries fast so no need to worry about a yucky soggy sponge, last ages before breaking down and best of all - 100% home compostable!

Comes with a natural cotton rope on one end so you can hang it up and allow it to properly dry between uses.

Size: ~17cm length, ~7cm diameter.

These are natural sponges made from the loofa plant, hence their sizes vary slightly.
Please note: allowing your loofa to dry fully between uses is important for preventing bacterial growth - if using for body please do not hang in a highly humid area like inside the shower (best left on a sunny windowsill).
